AIRs Challenge: Steampunk Wall Hanging

The AIRs theme for the month of January is "New Beginnings".  Having just moved into a new home, and a new studio, I really could relate to that theme.  I made a wall hanging to put on my studio door, it's a little bit steampunk, which I adore.  This is a sneak peek, the step by step can be seen on the Imagine blog.

February is right around the corner and is full of new challenges from Imagine.

AIRs Project: Delightful Wintergreen Card

The AIRs color challenge for the month of January is "wintergreen".  Take a look at the card I made using, what else, StazOn Studio Glaze and an ATC.  My interpretation of the wintergreen color is on the ATC as well as in the background.  Here's a sneak peek of a part of the card:

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm at CHA Phoenix right now and will be sharing lots of photos with you when I get back. ~ Hugs ~ Renee

Mixed Up Magazine is worth checking out!

Have you seen this new magazine, Mixed Up?  Editor Katy Leitch has really produced something truly astonishing!  I look forward to the first of every month when I can access this digital magazine, I'm a sucker for instant gratification.  Not only are the projects right on trend, from so many internationally known artists, but there are interactive tutorials that can be viewed with just a click.  I've never seen anything like this in the mixed media world.  I can also keep each issue in my computer, on my tablet and my phone and review it again at a later time without giving up valuable space in my studio.  The price makes it a real value.  It can only be accessed online and this can be done at Pocketmags.

I invite you to check it out.  This is the fourth issue and I'm pleased to say I have a piece of artwork featured on page 40.  If your ambition is to have your artwork published this year the submission guidelines are in the magazine and Katy is wonderful to work with.

I'd love to hear what you think of it and I'm sure Katy would as well.  Here's a link to the FB page.  Don't forget to check back here on Sunday to see who won the Somerset Studio Gallery issue!

As always, thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it!  Hugs ~ Renee

Somerset Studio Gallery 2017 GiveAway!

Somerset Studio Gallery Winter 2017

Yes, it is giveaway time!  Stampington has very generously provided an issue of the Winter 2017 Edition of Somerset Studio Gallery magazine for one of my followers.  Click on the link to take a closer look at how fabulous this issue is.

I was fortunate enough to have a cute card published on page 100.  There are some pretty fantastic articles to look at and projects to try your hand at.  If you are interested in entering the drawing the rules are pretty simple:  Be a follower of this blog, a U.S. resident and just leave a comment.  I will select the winner on Sunday, January 8th, 2017.  The winner will have 24 hours to get in touch with me or you can leave your email addy and I will get in touch with you.  Simple.

I hope you'll take a moment to leave a comment!  Have you chosen your word for the year yet?  I'm still thinking about that one, I cannot believe it's 2017 already.  A new year to me is always a fresh start, so let's all take a deep breath and start over again.

Hugs ~ Renee
