Have a lovely weekend! Our weather here has been outstanding in spite of the heavy pollen that has coated everything outside. Hugs ~ Renee
Renee Zarate's Bolton House is still in New England but Renee herself has moved on to South Carolina. The days are a little different now, no garden to take care of means more studio time. Dealing with snow and blizzards will be a thing of the past but there will be new challenges. Challenges like...how will we ever carry these two chairs and this huge umbrella down to the beach? Stay tuned.

Art Journal Play Time
In my studio I have multiple art journals, some are for Zentangle, others for Dylusion sprays and of course there are the AJs that are just random elements, remnants from other projects. Today as a warm up I decided to play in one of the random books. I have stamped off images and extra paint slopped onto the mixed media paper, just waiting patiently for a moment to be remembered and allowed to shine. This page had eyes stamped onto it and out came this face with a little help from Ranger's new Distress Crayons.

Wow, a wonderful face, Renee! And I love all the transparent effects throughout the page that come through her very being.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like the actress Brittany Murphy, I think. I love the eyes, and love that you did all this with Distress Crayons....that rocks! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteShe does look like Brittany Murphy....good idea to have several journals going at the same time. Love stamped eyes but they are tricky to use, you did a great job merging them with the crayons
ReplyDeleteSuch a great mix of stamping and drawing. Love it!
ReplyDeleteShe may not be a movie star, Renee, but she certainly has character. I would love to sit and talk with her over coffee. Her face intrigues me...
ReplyDeleteYou always make me smile Kay!
