Are you an Alice in Wonderland fan? Mini Album for ATCs

I'm such a fan of AIW.  I created this small art journal to house all the Alice ATCs in one spot.  It can be placed on a shelf or opened up to see the characters at the same time.

 The stamps are from Stampington and IndigoBlu, colored with Imagine Craft Memento Markers after being stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink.

Homework Part 2

I'm still following my wonderful class on-line with Jenny Doh. I shared our homework assignment yesterday and would like to share part 2 of the homework for this week with you also.  Yesterday we had to make something that we felt came naturally for us.  The assignment for today is to tear up the first homework project and make something else.  Takes nerves of steel but here goes.  Just say "bye, bye" to Alice....she disappeared on a piece of transfer tape (note to self, make a copy of the original for transfer tape attempts).  So now we have the Mad Hatter as our focal point.  I made a card, another thing that comes naturally to me.

I cut a hole in both the Tim Holtz key paper and the 5x7" card and centered the mad hatter in that circle.  I tore a piece of blue paper for the right side and glued 3 roses (Tim Holtz trimmings) and a lovely key from Alpha Stamps.  When you look inside you will see it is a PARTY invitation of some sort!

There he is, the Mad Hatter, the only survivor of the homework assignment.  He is of course the stamp from Stampington's Alice in Wonderland collection.  Our Mad Hatter has been firmly placed with his watch on a blue paint chip.  Now if we only could have that party..........

I am currently taking an on-line class with the FABULOUS Jenny Doh. ( If you don't know who she is just Google her.)  For this week we had to produce a homework project that showed what we felt our true artistic calling is.  Hmmmmm.  What I seem to do naturally is recycle ugly stuff and make it cute.  Also, I love to just "play" with different materials and mediums.  So this is what I made for my homework.
I started with an 8.5"x11.5" piece of white card stock.  I used some of my favorite Alice in Wonderland stamps, Stampington's Tea Party stamps and IndigoBlu's Alice stamps.  After stamping figures and words all over the paper randomly I started tangling around the images and words.  When I finished with that I colored areas with copic inks.  Now I have a piece of my own paper!  I photocopied this so I can use just the copy and keep the original in case I need it again.  So this is what my paper looks like:

I had a 4 1/2" paper tube that I wanted to cover with the paper.  So I cut a strip for that.  Then I made circles for the top and bottom of the tube out of the same paper and sealed the edges with 7 Gypsies tissue tape.  I sealed everything with Mat Medium to give it a little strength, let it dry and then started punching holes in the top circle.  The holes were to hold the pearls at the top that I hung bits and pieces of chains, mirrors, crystals, etc.  Just whatever I had left over in my scrap bag.  The little bottle at the bottom says "Drink Me" and I filled it with glitter glue.  I wrapped the little bottle up with blue waxed twine and glued it to the bottom near Alice's feet.  This makes a cute paper weight and was really FUN to make.

This Alice in Wonderland box is definitely an "Altered Alice".  I used Graphic 45 "Alice" paper that has lots of great colors and seems a little grungy/"goth", which I love the look of.   Then made a bow out of the same paper to put on the top.  Of course it went to California to "Popping Palate" cake pop master, Misty, and she said she loved it!  That's all that matters at the end of the day, right?

The Altered Alice Challenge

I love "The Altered Alice" blog and have finally decided to submit a card.  The card I created is the Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland late for the tea party since the theme is "TIME".
First I applied the new Bo-Bunny "Time" paper to the sticky back portion of a sheet of Sticky Back Canvas.  After soaking the canvas in water I rubbed off the paper which left only the clocks.  After allowing the new clock fabric to dry thoroughly, I cut a piece of the fabric off and sewed it to a large ready made background "tag" card which had been edged with brown and blue distress ink (Ranger Broken China & Vintage Photo).
Then distressed and attached a piece of red cardstock with several staples.  Stamped the rabbit on a mailing tag and then stamped clocks (both stamps are from Greetings from Wonderland SL25 by clearartstamps.com) randomly around the rabbit.  Distressed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist, blue, coffee and green.
After the mists dried I glued circles of mica to the clock faces.  I layered the mailing tag on to the card.  Now I added the large metal clock with E-6000 glue and tied a piece of measuring tape ribbon to the top of the card.
