Searching for my Muse

As I have mentioned before we sold our house in Massachusetts and have moved down to South Carolina, quite a long adventure but we're here and getting settled in.  I was sure I packed my "Muse" and carried her around with me for the past 5 months or so but at times I feel like she has been misplaced, then suddenly she reappears!  Usually when I feel like this I start drawing faces and inspiration soon follows.  So here I go again with the faces.  I don't like to start on a blank page so I used the paper to clean off gesso from a Seth Apter stencil first, let it dry then used the paper as a paint palette for a couple of days, just something to clean off a brush or mix watercolor pencil colors on.  Next I used Jane Davenport's small face stencil to get me going in the right direction.

So, what is YOUR favorite product to work with?

All artists have their favorite product to use.  Mine is shared on the Imagine Crafts blog today.  It's no secret that I'm in love with several of the IC/T products but I've been using this one a lot lately.  What's yours?  I'd love to hear about it.

More Girl Power cards

Here are a couple of cards I made to continue with the empowerment of women theme.

 

These cards were made by stamping on top of gesseoed panels.  After stamping I used StazOn Studio Glaze and Memento Markers to color in the ladies.  I added additional interest with stamps and a credit card inked with Tuxedo Black StazOn Inks.  Thanks for stopping by!

Girl Power Cards

 As soon as I heard one of the themes for my IMAGINE Crafts assignments as an Artist in Residence this month was "Girl Power" I knew right away what I wanted to do.  I love all the images Dyan Reaveley created called "Strength" and some of the phrases Dina Wakely has created with this same type of theme.  I decided to do a series of strong women cards the first one I'll share today.  The step by step directions can be found on the IMAGINE Crafts blog for the first one.  The rest were done pretty much the same way.  Take a look if you're interested in making your own set.
