Another entry to my Jane Davenport stencil storage book

This is the final entry to my JD stencil storage book.  This face is called my "Gypsy Girl" and is made using the JD stencil called Tilted Up.  Pop over to the Artistcellar blog if you'd like to see how she was done.

I'm down in Myrtle Beach, SC right now house hunting.  Thinking of all my friends in Mass.  This winter was one of the snowiest ever, we had over 100 inches!  I'll keep you all posted on my whereabouts.  :)

Take It Make It Challenge~half way point reminder!

Just a reminder to submit your entry to the Take It Make It Challenge.  The challenge for this month is stamping; just include some in your project.  I made a card with different components, all stamped.  Fun and easy to do.

I started by cutting out some manila paper wings with my Eclips machine and then stamped script with Jet Black StazOn ink. I stamped my "Little Friends" a sweet image from Stampotique also on manila cardstock and colored in the images.  Finally, the word "Fly", also by Stampotique was stamped, cut out and the edges inked in StazOn Gothic Purple ink.

The card is made from Kraft colored paper, folded in half with the edges inked in the Gothic Purple ink, too.  I placed the components on a piece of black cardstock, then glued the panel onto the Kraft card.

At this point you could leave it plain or add baker's twine and tie it in a bow at the top of the card.  Your choice.

Thanks for stopping by, you know you can enter more than once?  Check it out!

Take a Stamp! CS Take It Make It Challenge for March

We have a new challenge this month at the Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge...Stamping!  This is a fun, easy challenge for everyone.  Just include some stamping somewhere on whatever project you choose to do. I made an all occasion card as my project and if you read further there is a short tutorial as to how it was done.

When I am working on projects I usually keep a large sheet of watercolor paper off to the side or under the project.  While working I wipe paint or ink off on the paper, stampoff ink on it, clean off stencils with baby wipes, all onto the paper.  When the paper looks full I switch it out for a new sheet.  Later when I need a background for a card or an ATC I have something to pull from.  Having said that, my ATC is cut from just such a sheet of paper.  After cutting it to measure 3 1/2" by 2 1/2", I stamped a Stampendous heart on the ATC.  I found a self adhesive butterfly in my stash so that went onto the ATC.

Using the same heart stamp, I stamped a piece of Kraft colored card stock with StazOn Jet Black ink.

Then I just assembled all of the components making a panel.  I glued the panel to a white blank card.

You could leave it plain at this point or add some baker's twine to the side like I did.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will enter your creation at the CS Take It Make It Challenge site.  Go for it!  You never know, your work could end up showcased in the Craft Stamper's magazine.

The Window

I find working in my journal to be comforting and calming.  How about you?  Does your art journal bring you a sense of serenity?  I am working in my small Dyan Reaveley journal today using Artistcellar stencils.  If you would like to see all the steps it took to do these pages just pop follow this link to the Artistcellar blog.  It is called The Window.  When one closes another opens, you just have to be patient.

Winter should be ending soon!  Just a few more weeks until spring is officially here.  Hugs ~ Renee
